I just got Factory-Reconditioned Dewalt DCD940KXR 1/2-Inch Variable Speed Reversible Drill Kit This is an insane drillBy Max ClementsI bought this drill over the DC720KA and wow, this is an insane drill. When you pick this thing up, you know you are holding onto something extremely tough and robust. The business end is all steel, the chuck is all steel, and it has two clutch rings, so you can switch from drill mode to driver mode without having to run all the way through the clutch. The 3 speed transmission is all metal and it changes with a nice solid click, I have used so many other drills with 2 and 3 speed transmissions and sometimes the only way to make them change is to squeeze the trigger a little while changing - this drill has none of that - just a solid click.Pull the trigger and you realize just how powerful this thing is, I have used it a lot with #12 2.5" screws into studs with no pilot holes while installing shelving (which is how I killed my trusty 18v Black & Decker) and this drill just drives them home effortlessly.
