
Do you need Hantek DSO 5200 PC Based USB Digital Storage Oscilloscope 200MS/s Decent scope to fit a budgetBy Michael RaifordAfter unpacking, the unit was a bit bigger than expected, something to keep in mind if you're going to be carrying it around with you in your notebook case, despite its size, it is very lightweight. After installing the software and plugging it in to the USB port, and hooking a probe up to the internal test signal, the scope worked flawlessly out of the box. Installation on a Windows 7 64 bit machine went smoothly, giving absolutely no problems. The software offers all of the functionality you'd expect from a 2 channel scope. Although the software has a few rough edges, it works well and gets the job done. The only thing I had a real serious problem with was the pulse width trigger; for whatever reason, I could not get this feature to work, no matter how hard I tried. It may be related to what I was monitoring, or something different, I'm not sure, but it never seemed to trigger reliably on a pulse. Rising and falling edge triggering worked perfectly.
