Rack and pinion travel a little rough but can be eased with WD40. Arbor-chuck runout small, quite a bit less than 1/64", perhaps less than 1/256" as judged visually. This runout is considerably less than frequently produced by drills and Forstner bits themselves. I therefore expect runout to be dominated by the inadequacies of the bits rather than of the Rikon machine. With the chuck centered over the table, the perpendicular distance from the chuck axis to the surface of the support post is about 15" making this drill press approximately equivalent to a 30" unit. So, if you are wondering whether your add-on woodworker's drill press table will fit it or are wondering which add-on table to buy, you can use these dimensions as a guide. I doubt there is any commercially advertised add-on table available to the home woodworker that will fail to fit the Rikon 30-140.
