I purchased this Makita for an employee at his request - and it was cheaper to boot! Now, mind you this is a CORDED 2-speed gearcase hammer drill, so when we plugged it in an tried to use a 1-1/8" ship auger in a 2x6 - guess what - the clutch kicked in - THE CLUTCH? nice touch for an underpowered drill - like a small drill like this needs a clutch! This is not a cordless screwdriver - but a "heavy duty" drill. Looks like a bunch of LAWYERS designed this TOY! So I pulled out my 5371 milwaukee and instantly blew through the wood. needless to say, the mak went right back into the box and back to Amazon.
